INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT)

It also known as Internet of Objects. It generally refers to a wireless network between objects. It is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique ability to transfer the data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

In Internet of Things, things can be a person with a heart monitor implant, a farm animal with a biochip transponder or an automobile that has built-in sensors that alerts the driver when tire pressure is low or any other natural or man-made object that can be assigned with an IP address and are provided with the ability to transfer data over a network.

It has evolved from the convergence of wireless technologies, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), microservice and the internet. The convergence has helped tear down the silo walls between the operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), allowing unstructured machine generated data to be analyzed for insights that will drive improvements. In it, Technologies used are Connectivity & networking Protocols, Software, Hardware, Cloud and machine learning and also Smart devices are connected on a social network for machines .It will also help homes in saving energy. It also has downsides like Breach of privacy, there is always the possibility of hackers breaking into the system and stealing the data, Over- reliance on technology, no system is robust and fault -free etc.
